Global DRAM supply bit growth only reached 3.8% QoQ in 1Q06, down further from DRAMeXchange’s initial estimate of 4.8%. The largest DRAM maker, Samsung Electronics, which reshuffled its product structures of both DRAM and NAND Flash in 2006, is the major cause. Most DRAM makers, except for Elpida Memories and ProMOS Technologies, record their quarterly supply bit growth below 5% in 1Q06.
